Adam Franklin is a classically trained and respected chef, owner of the Yacht Club Liverpool and the hospitality consultancy company AFCS Ltd.

Adam started his cooking career at the tender age of 13 working summer holidays in his grandfather’s bakery in the hamlet of Painswick Glos. With a natural talent for baking, by age 15 he was able to run the baking operations having developed excellent skills as an accomplished baker and pastry chef.

Two years at the prestigious Greenbank school of catering in Chester was followed by five years as a VIP chef in the Royal Air force. Following his military stint, Adam entered the London restaurant scene in 1995, taking the helm at the Princes Room; the one Rosette restaurant within the Tower Thistle Hotel, before moving to Daphne’s in Kensington; a timeless three Rosette restaurant.

Adam moved to the Beckwith family-owned Riverside in Chiswick as executive chef to finish his London stint.When relocating home to the North, Adam took up the position as development chef with the Restaurant Group Plc before taking the managing director position at Piaf Restaurants.

Adam opened Liverpool’s first ever Gastro Pub and New York deli concept before taking over as chef proprietor of The Yacht Club Liverpool in 2012. The business continues to develop and is regarded as the venue in Liverpool for Sunday lunch.

As a chef consultant, Adam continues to work with some of the world’s largest food brands and also several small food businesses such as restaurants, bars and a small independent bakery chains.

A passionate foodie and trainer, Adam is a board member of the community interest company Project Scouse. The project is an endeavour dedicated to raising awareness of the food businesses in Liverpool. Project Scouse has an ultimate goal of preserving Liverpool’s food heritage and promoting the future development of Liverpool food to place it firmly on the world’s culinary map. This is a project Adam is incredibly passionate about.

Adam is also heavily involved with L20 Hotel School and a board member of the Emotions Project.
